Crack Chasing is used to stop cracks in a floor from spalding outward and creating holes in the floor. The cut is made approximately ½ inch wide by 1 inch deep. Upon completion of the cut, foam backing is installed at the base with a self-leveling compound applied on top to seal the joint. This method is also used to seal joints to prevent water leakage.
